14 October 2020Discover the advice of the Leonor Greyl Institute
to understand why and how to apply their oils.
What is an oil for?
The hair oil prepares the hair for shampoo and facilitates detangling.
The oil is also used to soften, hydrate,
and protect the hair, which makes it a treatment product par excellence
and sometimes even makes it possible to skip the mask.
How much oil to apply?
Half a teaspoon for short or medium-length hair, a teaspoon for long hair.
It’s better to apply a small amount of oil than too much.
Before swimming, it’s recommended to slightly increase the amount of oil.
How do you apply a hair oil?
The oils are applied according to the length of the hair, its nature, and
the environment in which we live.
To apply an oil, pour it into the palm of your hands and warm it before applying
it to the length and ends.
Then use a boar bristle brush to make it facilitate the absorption and prevent it
from remaining on the surface.
How to choose your type of oil?
You must choose an oil specially designed for your hair and leave
aside products dedicated to another uses, such as olive oil.
More generally, for exposure to the sun, it’s essential to choose an oil offering
protection from the sun in order to protect the hair and the color.
At the pool or at the sea, choose an oil that’s water-resistant.
Finally, beware of excessively heavy oils that tend to make the hair greasy.
