THE TEN COMMANDMENTSby CAROLINE GREYL
12 October 2020Why you need to avoid dry shampoo?
12 October 2020Oils, oils, oils!
To protect your hair from external aggressions and hydrate it at the same time,
there is nothing better than a pre-shampoo oil treatment!
Two to three capfuls of Huile de Leonor Greyl applied on the length and ends
before each shampoo are enough to take care of your hair all summer.
Brush your hair after applying the oil, and feel free to re-apply during the day…
especially if you are a scuba-diving enthusiast!
Oiled hair is ideal for summer hairstyles: bohemian braids, high or low ponytails,
“messy” buns … oil gives an ultra-glossy finish and leaves your hair delicately scented.
For these hairstyles, choose Huile Secret de Beauté – a light and easy-to-use oil.
You can leave it on as long as you wish, up to 24 hours, and even apply it to your body
to give a satin-smooth finish and to prolong your tan!
I never go on holiday without Huile de Magnolia, a must-have for the summer.
It is one of my favorite products. A multi-purpose oil, it can be applied to the body
to soothe your skin at the slightest sign of irritation or to prolong your tan,
and it can be used as a make-up remover for the face.
Once you start using this, you’ll find it difficult to stop!
Don’t forget to protect your scalp from the sun too.
To do this, experiment with “bobo”, “gipsy” and “retro” styles…
with a scarf or opt for a straw hat to allow your scalp to breathe.
Choose the right shampoo
If, in spite of these precautions, your scalp becomes sunburned, replace your shampoo
with Crème aux Fleurs.
This washing cream will calm your scalp and rehydrate the hair.
Don’t forget to use a gentle shampoo like Shampooing au Miel for fine hair,
or Shampooing Crème Moelle de Bambou for thick hair, after swimming in the sea
or pool.
This is essential for removing sand, salt and chlorine, and reducing the aggressive
effects they have on the hair fiber.
Each time you wash your hair, particularly if it’s long, treat your hair by applying
a conditioning mask on the length and the ends, leaving it on for 3 to 5 minutes
on towel dried hair before rinsing.
If your hair is very dry, do not rinse your mask off completely so that over time
its effect is prolonged.
Give up blow-drying and styling appliances as much as you can in summer.
Your hair needs a holiday too!
You are afraid of the “frizzy”, “messy” or “flat hair” effect when you leave your hair air dry?
Some tips to help keep it in the desired shape:
First, remove the excess water from your hair without rubbing, simply by rolling it in a towel
or a cotton cloth. Do not leave your hair wrapped in the towel too long as this can flatten it.
Do not apply any product to the roots, it may make them heavy
– unless it is specifically adapted to this use like Tonique Hydratant,
whose very light formula strengthens the hair, or Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice
if you are looking for more volume.
Adapted styling products
For a sleek finish, apply a small amount of Sérum de Soie Sublimateur on the length
and ends for fine hair or Éclat Naturel for thick hair, then brush into the desired style.
Repeat this once your hair is almost dry, adding a little more product.
In summer, it’s sometimes difficult to achieve a smooth finish as the humidity causes
the hair to swell, particularly at the beach.
To avoid this problem, go for a “wavy” look, emphasizing movement and giving bounce
to the curls. Use Algues et Fleurs if you have fine and/or naturally curly hair,
Tonique Hydratant if it’s frizzy or kinky.
Twist sections of hair around your fingers or braid them to create pretty curls.
Finally, combine beauty and protection from the Sun by opting for a styling product
adapted to your hair!
Several Leonor Greyl products offer these benefits: Sérum de Soie Sublimateur,
Éclat Naturel, Lait Luminescence, Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice and Structure Naturelle.
