HOW TO SOOTHE A SENSITIVE SCALP TO REGAIN WELL-BEING AND BALANCE?

20 October 2020Dull, limp and often prone to irritation or itching, oily hair is a problem
that should not be overlooked to avoid loss of vitality or early hair loss.
Apart from its unsightly appearance on the hair, an excess of sebum can in fact suffocate
the scalp and disturb the functions of the hair follicle. Hair that cannot breathe at the roots
eventually becomes anemic, increasing the risk of falling out.
What are the causes of oily scalp?
The secretion of sebum is a natural process that helps protect the scalp
and prevent it from drying out.
It forms a film on the scalp, a protective barrier which prevents the development
of bacteria and contributes to the suppleness of the skin.
When the sebaceous glands produce too much, the sebum clogs the hair bulbs
and weighs down the hair at the roots, quickly giving them an oily appearance
a few hours after the last shampoo. In the most severe cases, it can cause itching,
irritation, bad odors, and promote the development of seborrheic dermatitis.
This excessive secretion of sebum, called seborrhea, can have various causes:
hormonal imbalance (the male hormones being responsible for the production of sebum),
stress, unbalanced diet, excessive use of coloring products which irritate the scalp,
unsuitable maintenance or care.
What to do to regulate sebum secretion and remedy oily hair?
- Perfect hygiene is essential. The hair must be washed with a specific shampoo,
with a gentle and non-aggressive washing effect to not activate the sebaceous glands.
The shampoo should allow you to wash your hair as often as you like without causing
a seborrhea reaction.
For daily use, Leonor Greyl recommends Lait lavant à la Banane, whose extremely
gentle formula washes without any aggressiveness while fortifying the hair.
Use every two days, Bain TS ensures the excellent hygiene of oily scalps without stripping
away the sebum that should be there. Its ant seborrheic and antiperspirant properties
normalize the scalp and help keep hair clean and light for longer.
Emulsify your shampoo by gradually adding a little water, and always rinse it thoroughly so as
not to leave a deposit on the scalp. Avoid styling products, which tend to weigh down the hair.
- A mistake: the use of baby shampoos, which contain few washing agents and will not
be able to treat oily hair.
Always use a shampoo suitable for your scalp and if necessary, apply a conditioner mask
on your length and ends to moisturize them.
What to do to effectively deal with the problem in depth?
- To effectively treat the problem, it’s necessary to rebalance the sebaceous secretions
with appropriate treatments to avoid asphyxiation of the hair bulbs and hair loss.
Used in place of the shampoo at least once a week, Huile Germe de Blé deeply removes sebum
while revitalizing the scalp.
It’s the essential treatment for oily, soft and devitalized hair, to which it improves energy
and volume.
In the case of hair loss, Huile Germe de Blé can be mixed together with Concentré Energétique
to reinforce the stimulating action of the treatment.
A spray treatment without rinsing after each shampoo, Tonique Végétal offers a prolonged action
on the scalp by slowing the appearance of sebum and excessive perspiration.
It helps keep hair clean for longer and extends the hold of the hairstyle, bringing a real improvement
to the problems of oily scalps.
In addition to these treatments, be sure to maintain a healthy lifestyle and do not hesitate
to seek the advice of a dermatologist if the problem persists.
