Tips for good brushing

Les conseils pour un bon brossage

A true care and beauty gesture for all hair, brushing helps prevent knots, eliminates impurities, and instantly boosts shine through its smoothing action on the hair fiber. FOURNIVAL ALTESSE, our exceptional partner in creating our tailor-made brushes for almost 10 years, is one of the last companies in the world to perpetuate this ancestral know-how since 1875. The Leonor Greyl brush, which is 100% wild boar hair, is tailor-made by our partner and detangles fine and thick hair while providing shine and glow. Some tips from our experts for even silkier hair.

DAILY BRUSHING

This daily gesture oxygenates the hair to detangle or rid it of residues that dull it. Provided you have the appropriate tool, it, allows the hair to maintain a beautiful texture.

• Straight hair : opt for a flat boar bristle brush to accentuate the glossy effect.

• Fine or oily hair :
a flat brush with soft bristles is ideal as it will add more volume.

• Curly hair :
use a more or less large round brush, so as not to break the curl.

• Curly or frizzy hair :
ideally choose a wide-toothed comb to perfectly separate the hair, or a boar bristle brush to smooth out small frizzes.

Regular brushing has multiple benefits. It keeps hair clean and shiny for longer, stimulates the scalp by promoting microcirculation, and distributes sebum over the entire hair length, naturally protecting it against external aggressions and static electricity.

BRUSHING PRE-SHAMPOO

Shampooing detangled hair will be much more effective and pleasant. For this step, choose a flat boar bristle brush, which detangles the hair perfectly without breaking it.

Please note : always start by detangling the ends before the length and finish with the roots. If hair is dry, apply l'Huile de Leonor Greyl to the length and ends to hydrate it and facilitate detangling.

BRUSHING WHILE SHAMPOOING

This gesture is also recommended in the shower after applying shampoo, but use the Brosse Massante for this step. Thanks to its soft nubs, it cleanses, stimulates, and relaxes the scalp while eliminating dandruff and residue. It is a true ally for healthy and shiny hair.

DETANGLING DAMP HAIR

When your hair is wet or damp, a widetoothed comb or a soft bristle brush is recommended while rinsing your mask or after getting out of the shower. Hygienic, practical, and effective, they are suitable for all hair types. Wet hair is heavier and, therefore, more fragile when detangling. Be careful to keep your hand light and, above all, not to force them, as you risk breaking them.

BLOW-DRY

A round boar bristle brush is the ideal accessory for blow-drying because its shape grips the hair perfectly, but its bristles do not damage it. Just be sure to adapt the size of the brush to the desired result: a large brush will allow you to straighten long hair or style bangs, a small brush will be perfect for creating volume on short hair, and a medium brush will create pretty Hollywood curls...

Always protect your hair from the drying effects of heat before starting to blow dry. Silicone-free and suitable for all hair types, Leonor Greyl's thermo-protective treatments are Éclat Naturel, Sérum de Soie sublimateur, Condition Naturelle, and Lait Luminescence.

Make sure to clean your accessories regularly to avoid dulling your hair: remove the hair after each use (using a fine comb if necessary) and wash your brush once a week with soapy water.
